Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Safety
equipment demonstrators or salespersons may be asked to visit
the class and discuss PPE and its use in agricultural occupations.
Pinpoint certain topics for the speaker to stress within their
discussion, such as the cost of protective equipment vs. the
medical expense of living with a lung disease, or the "uncomfortable
feeling/fit" of safety equipment vs. the discomfort and
illness of a lifelong disease such as Farmer's Lung. Have
them bring cost estimates for the equipment and samples to
visualize or try on for the students.
