AUTHOR ABSTRACT

In 1967 the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food reported 8686 accidents and diseases in agriculture in England and Wales, of which 114 (1.3 per cent) were fatal. In a recent 12- month study in Cambridge, 132 patients were seen with injuries resulting while they were engaged in farm work. The types of injury seen and their causes are discussed with particular reference to the design of the agricultural machinery commonly involved. The world literature on the subject is briefly review d.
