Forklift Safety establishes that the operator is not only responsible for their safety, but the safety of the people around them too. The program uses the analogy and dramatic footage of the Air Force Thunderbirds to convey this message. The Thunderbirds are experienced professionals who fly thousands of hours each year with an outstanding safety record. They understand and respect the potential hazards and take measures to control them including vehicle inspection and maintenance, hazard assessment before each flight, communication, and expected performance from each pilot. These are the same components necessary to prevent forklift incidents.
