On Guard

How to properly use machine safety guards. Machine guards are essential to protect workers from the hazards of the moving equipment they operate. Yet many workers avoid using them to make their jobs faster or easier. Emphasizing that any moving part of a machine is a potential hazard, "On Guard" demonstrates the various types of guards and provides procedures for their proper use, removal, or repair. Showing the barrier, interlock, two-hand switch, ram block, and power transmission guards, this video encourages workers to look at the way they use their machinery to be sure that guards are inspected and kept in place so they'll do the job they're supposed to do -- protect the worker. The complete program includes one 12-minute video, a leader's guide, and 10 participant workbooks.
