Think Forklift: Methods and Hazards of Operation


This program provides an overview of the various types of forklifts. It alerts the viewer to potential hazards that could result from the improper operation of a forklift. It provides an overview of the basic operation and associated safety procedures related to the following topics: factors affecting unit stability and load handling, such as center of gravity, warning and proper weight distribution; power plant operation and maintenance including the inspection checklist and refueling procedures; operational controls and instruments, such as starting devices, brakes, lights, etc.; operational procedures covering movement, steering and braking; lifting procedures for low and high level; and special attachments, such as barrel lifters and cranes.
