It provides an overview of the basic operation and associated safety procedures related to the following topics: factors affecting unit stability and load handling, such as center of gravity, warning and proper weight distribution; power plant operation and maintenance including the inspection checklist and refueling procedures; operational controls and instruments, such as starting devices, brakes, lights, etc.; operational procedures covering movement, steering and braking; lifting procedures for low and high level; and special attachments, such as barrel lifters and cranes.
