CHA is a non-profit international membership organization dedicated to improving the safety and quality of group riding programs in camps, stables, private schools, universities, and other locations. CHA also publishes standards, manuals, and materials for riding students and instructors. |
Children's Safety Network (CSN) Rural

The CSN Rural Center serves as a national clearinghouse for information on horse-related injuries and their prevention. Additional information and assistance is available on other rural and agricultural hazards to children. Funding for the center comes from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the Health Resources and Services Administration. |
Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) National

The CPSC is a federal regulatory agency which aims to reduce the risk of injury or death from consumer products. Horse-related injury estimates are based on data collected through the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS). |
Horsemanship Safety Association, Inc. (HSA) 517

The HSA is a non-profit organization dedicated to safety education in equestrian sports. HSA offers safety certification programs for stables and camps along with risk management consultation. |
4-H and Youth Development United

A growing number of state 4-H horse projects are requiring children and leaders to wear helmets while participating in 4-H horse activities. The national program is supportive of these requirements and can offer resources and referrals. |
