Take Pesticide Inventory (PSA Radio Script)

(Time: 45)

Now that the busy planting season is over, take a minute to check pesticide products around your farm.

Make sure they're all in a central location and stored properly under lock and key. If you have small amounts of labeled pesticides left, plan to apply them this spring or summer, or consider giving them to another farm operator who can use them.

Mark the date of purchase on each pesticide container, and make sure it still has its original label. Check the date of the next Toxic Cleanup Day in your area, mark it on your calendar, and plan to take old, unwanted or banned pesticides to the cleanup site for professional disposal.

You'll appreciate an organized pesticide storage area when fieldwork gets busy again. You'll also know you're being safe.
